What if m4 let the user discard comments? I would find it useful.
I know about m4_dnl and m4_divert(-1) as alternatives. But to me, these lack the visual indication of a comment (they blend in with surrounding text), and feel kludgy (they are very different from # or // or /* */).
Any reason not to let the user discard comments? Thanks, Daniel
