It's called Sendero GPS. It worked quite well on the Windows 6.5 OS.
Now that platform is dead! The company need to bring the successful
app over to Android. For all we know they might be working on that as
I speak.

I do get nearest street crossings but accuracy isn't great so I don't use
the app anymore. What we need is a proper full blown app from Sendero so we can navigate as well as explore. Lets face it Windows phone's are no longer
accessible and they need to bring there product to Symbian or Android
otherwise the product's life is over.

No demo. It is very easy to use though and very well worth it and very
accurate and right on with information on cross streets . i use it for
that more than for pois but at least in my experience mabny of its
pois are still right too.

I don't have my own site, so you will have to wait for it.

Perhaps the mapping is different in the u.k. Here in the U.S. the
sendero
app will tell you the closest address as well as the cross street you
are
closest to, this may be the street that is ahead of you or behind you so
you have to use a bit of reason to figure out which one. Also, when
using
the navigation part of google maps, the distance to your next turn is
displayed in the notification area. I put these 2 apps to a good test
last
week when I traveled a route I had never traveled before and arrived
successfully. Also, using a bluetooth gps receiver seems to improve
accuracy.

Hi. Is there a Navigation app out there that actually gives you info
on distance remaining and the current road name along with the name of
the next road. There's nothing out there that's meeting my needs.
Walky Talky only lets you know of your current position when not in
navigation mode. I don't like Sendero either as it gives inaccurate
info. Can anyone recommend an alternative solution?
