there is one that I have that works with boost mobile. you have to pay for
the phone right out though. 230 plus tax, plus S&H, if you ship over night,
is five dollars. but anyway, it is the samsung transform ultra, and it is a
damned good phone. if you want the specs you can email me off list, or you
can go check out podcast 25 on www.jjhof.com/android

Subject: [MA] any accessible phones that work with prepaid or no contract
plans

Hi,
I hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving weekend.

I'm a new member to this list. I'm currently a Verizon customer and have the
Samsung Haven but am looking to save money.

can anyone tell me if there are any accessible phones that work with prepaid
plans like Boost Mobile, Cricket, or Virgin Mobile?
I would like a phone that can be used for text and web surfing along with
talking but really only have to have a phone that I can add and retrieve
contacts from as well as talk on.
Can anyone recommend any models that would work?
I'm trying to save money and get a cheaper bill than I currently can get
with Verizon.

Also, can anyone tell me how to "unlock" a phone so it can be used on other
networks? I have a Haven that I got from Verizon that is accessible now and
am wondering if I can use it on one of the cheaper, prepaid carriers' plans
if it is unlocked?
Thanks in advance for your help.
