When I got my Android phone, which is a Samsung Galaxy Pro, I also needed to
transfer my contacts from my Nokia to the Samsung.
I did this via Bluetooth, but I needed a bit of sighted help to make it
work. I went to the Bluetooth settings on my Nokia and told it to pair with
the Samsung. Then, on the Samsung, a notification appeared in the
notification bar. You have to click this to allow the Bluetooth connexion,
and there is also a checkbox that lets the phones automatically connect
again without having to allow it again. If you don't do all of this fast
enough, the connexion will time out and both the phones will say there was a
failure. That's why you need sighted help to do this.
After this, you can go to the contacts on your Nokia and send them all by
Bluetooth. Nothing needs to be done on the Android phone.

I've just got my new Sony Erickson Mini Pro and am wondering if
there's an easy, accessible way to transfer contacts from my Nokia
onto my new phone. I told the Android not to sync with google
contacts because, at least using the "basic html" view of google mail,
I find google just adds every e-mail address I ever mail to my
contacts which I don't want, and the contacts I want on my phone are
on my Nokia. I tried going to contacts on my Nokia and sending via
bluetooth to the Mini Pro but got a message from both phones saying
failed - it seemed they were connected and communicating but the file
wasn't received properly. I guess this is because they're not the
same operating system. Most of the instructions I see online refer to
using Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite which I find inaccessible at least in
my version and with JAWS. Is there any other way around this problem?
