First, you will want to backup your contacts to both your Google mail
account and to your SD card for transfer to your computer and for
placement on your new phone.
Next, after you get your new phone and set it up, and sign in to your
Google account, your contacts should be restored, if not, copy them from
your computer to your new SD card and import them to your contacts.
Now that this has been done, each time you go to contacts, just enter
the first characters for the contact you are looking for and the list
shrinks to those that match and that should help. Also, many Motorola
phones have voice dialing through the voice command app or through
motospeak. I am not sure if Verizon offers a service like ATT did.
Finally, go to phone settings, not the phone settings on the ma home
launcher but the one in apps and about phone, Make sure you have the
latest Android operating system, if there isn't an update to Ice Cream
sandwich, one is on the horizon. You may need to go to Motorola to get
it so subscribe to the Motorola forum for your product and watch it
closely. An update is due out sometime this quarter but with Motorola,
it could be delayed. Other than being the slowest to update their
devices, the Motorola Droid phone is a decent phone for a mid range
phone. Enjoy.

As I said in a previous post, I am going to Verizon and getting the
Motorola Android 4 with 4G LTE. I have over a thousand contacts with
an ATT service called Voice Dial. How can I use my voice to make
calls with Verizon, or or how can I quickly maneuver my Gmail contacts
so I don't don't have to arrow down through 1000 plus contacts to get
to Verizon Store Local, for example. Thank you for any ideas you can
shed on this.
