The built-in web browser should be accessible, you will need to go into
system settings under accessibility and select to allow Google to
download scripts to make pages more accessible though.

Rod, by built-in apps I mean things like phone, contacts, sms,
calendar, Play Store etc. I think the built-in web browser is not
accessible, but I heard that Firefox for Android is a very good
alternative. Will check that out soon.
As for email, I don't like the built-in app very much although I think
it is accessible. I use K9 Mail instead, which works very well.

Hello Nick,
I got the Galaxy Nexus last month, and it works great for me. It runs
Android 4.2, which means almost all the built-in apps are accessible
with Talkback. So actually there is no need to install MA. I did
install it though, but hardly ever use it.
You may have to get used to typing on a virtual keyboard on a touch
screen. It's not as fast as a physical keyboard, but the Android
keyboard works very nicely with Talkback. You can just slide your
finger across the screen, anhd lift it once you hear the character you
want to type.
