which browser are you using? If you are using the ma one, might I
suggest you try the stock web browser or better still download Firefox
beta. I think you will find them to render pages better than ma's one
does. Also make sure under settings, accessibility that enhance web
accessibility is allowed.
Please let me know the results. I have a sneaking suspicion you are
using Ma's feeble attempt at a browser.

Hi, dusty: I have changed the subject line, as you see. I have a Droid 4
with 4.1, I use Verizon Mobile Accessibility, and I mainly use the
physical keyboard on my phone, though I do sometimes use taps and other
gestures. I just find the keyboard to be more precise for me.
I do use the mobile version of Facebook, m.facebook.com. I use the mobiel
version of FB on my PC and on my Braille Plus Mobile Manager and have no
trouble at all using it on these other devices. But it appears
differently on my phone.
1. How do I post a status update? I can find where it reads "What's on
your mind? but there is no link there. I have tried using the ok key and
the enter key on that line, but nothing. I have tried the link just below
"What's on your mind?" but it takes me to the following post page.
2. How do I post a comment on someone else's post? I have tried pressing
both the ok key and the enter key on the comment link, but I don't find
an edit box to type in.
More questions later... Clare

okay, let's start by me asking you a few questions. What phone do
you
have or table as the case may be. What android version are you
using?
How are you trying to connect to facebook? Have you tried
m.facebook.com and see if you can do it that way. as far as going
back,
if you can't find a back or navigate up button, try finding home,
either
as a link or a button. If you want to send me a private message
with
your number or some way to work on this that would work better for
you
than exchanging emails, though I might have to look some things up
and
might not have an answer at the time, please feel free to contact me
off-list so that we can arrange things. If you would rather work
through the mailing list, that is fine to. it seems like I only
have
one more difficulty for which you are experiencing to solve and you
will
be fine.

Dusty: Yes, I was finally able to make a phone call and send a
text using
VR! (I mean using a number and not one of my contacts.) Thank you
so
much! Your patience and helpfulness are astounding! Now, if I
could only
get Facebook to work for me, I'd be all set! Problem 1: When I get
to the
end of the page, I am unable to continue. Problem 2: When I
"like"
something, I cannot get back to the home page of FB, or back to
the page
I was on. Problem 3: Same thing when I write a comment. Problem
4:
Sometimes I am unable to "like" something.
Thanks again, Clare

as long as you are in the "to" box, it should allow you to do

using MA's built in phone dialer, just hold down the volume
down
button,
you don't need to long press the volume up key in ma, only
outside

it, then while pressing the down volume, when you feel the
vibrations,
speak the number and then release the volume key. I hope that
helps.

Dusty: Your directions worked splendidly! Thank you so much
for
taking
the time to help me. We are now able to bring up the virtual
keyboard
when we long press the volume up key, but that is where we
are
stuck. For
instance, if I want to use Voice recognition to dial a
number,
I
go to
Phone (in MA, of course) and then to "Dial Number." I
long-press
the
volume up key, and the virtual keyboard appears. We tried
long-pressing
the Volume down key at this point, but nothing happens and it
will
not
accept voice input to say a number. Is there something that
we
are
still
missing? Thanks so much, Clare

then go to settings, language and keyboards, check mobile
accessibility, go to default keyboard, tap it, and choose
mobile
accessibility. It may be labeled something like system
keyboard
instead
of default. not only does it have to be activated as a
keyboard
choice,
but just like you have to do when installing a new tts
engine,
you
need
to set it as the default keyboard. you can do this from ma
as
well.
If
you think you have it activated and you need to set it as
default,
from
ma, go to ma settings, text input, virtual keyboard,
advanced,
and
set
input method, select mobile accessibility and it is done.
