Welcome to the world of the mac. First, go ahead and complete the mac set up if you have not already done so, you will not be able to get in to voice over utility until you get to the desktop. If you know where the function key is, you can hold it along with control option F8 to get to the voiceover utility. Otherwise, open system preferences, it's in the apple menu and choose keyboard.
