Hi Joe,

I'm not sure you ever do.  I just restarted Lion and made certain not to 
restore Windows.  Now without starting the dropBox app The remote folder 
(dropbox) still appears in the home directory.

Also, this thread could leave the impression that the voiceOver dependent user 
needs to install the beta.  I'm not sure what advantage the beta offers, but 
the version I installed (very easily thanks to Annie's suggestion) was 1.1.43 
dated August 23 2011, which is where the download link presently points.
