Hi Ian,

Yes, this is a bug with VoiceOver that has been reported to Apple.  It wouldn't 
hurt to report it again.  You need to turn VoiceOver off, type the entry, then 
turn VoiceOver back on again.  Here are the steps:
1. Interact with the group table and set your VO cursor on the new group.
2. Route your mouse cursor to your VoiceOver cursor with VO-Command-F5
3. Turn VoiceOver off with Command-F5
4. Press Return
5. Type the new group name
6. Press Return
7. Turn VoiceOver back on again with Command-F5

(If you have you have your Mouse cursor set to track your VoiceOver cursor 
under the Navigation options of VoiceOver Utility, you can skip step 2 about 
routing your mouse cursor.)
