Michael,
Maybe you have too many programs running.
Restarting the phone does not close them, they will all open again on
restart.
Double-tap the home key and bring up the app switcher.
Tap and hold one of the apps until it says "editing apps".
Then double-tap each app until the app switcher says "no more apps".
Then close the app switcher, and restart your phone, and let us know if that
helps.
Glenn

Subject: an i-phone 4 problem

until i can conveniently upgrade to the 4 s, i am having a
problem with my i-phone 4.
when i go into emails, if i have a few messages in a thread for
example my i-phone seems to be very sluggish while scrolling
through emails.
i cannot understand why my i-phone 4 has become so slow when
doing certain things like reading emails and texts.
the only thing i can think of is that it is to do with the latest
version of ios and my i-phone 4.
if i try to move faster it also is known to jump while struggling
to scroll through items.
how do i resolve this problem?
