Hi Paul, In addition to Anne's hint, which will work for forcing the download of a linked audio file or PDF file when you are focused on the link, if the file has already started playing or displayed in your browser a quick way to get it to download without going back to the original link is to press Command-L followed by holding down the Option key and pressing Return. The first action highlights the link address in the address bar, which is similar to being focused on the link in a web page, and then applying Option+Return.
This is actually a standard Mac OS X shortcut that you'll read about as using "Option Click", and it works with VoiceOver as Option+Return, because VoiceOver automatically highlights the link selection without doing the "Click" with mouse or trackpad. Incidentally, if you navigate to the podcast links on the main Blind Cool Tech web page there's something odd about the way they're encoded in HTML, so you first have to interact on the show link, then press Option+Return. HTH. Cheers, Esther On Jan 25, 2012, at 07:41, Paul Hopewell wrote: > Hello Anne, > You're a genius! Yes that did the trick and downloaded the podcast.
