Hi Christine,

Have you tried using the Mailbox Search function in Mail? You can get to it by 
pressing Command+Option+F or by navigating through the Edit menu. This will 
place your cursor in the Find window and as you type Mail will search through 
your mailboxes to find messages containing the terms. The results will appear 
in your message list. To get more details on this command, try typing the word 
"find" in the search box found in the Help menu.
