Hi All, Sorry for the late notice, but for those of you who are interested, the O'Reilly Missing Manual eBooks on "Switching to the Mac: The Missing Manual, Lion Edition" and "Mac OS X Lion: The Missing Manual" by David Pogue are on sale today for half price ($11.99 and $13.99):
http://shop.oreilly.com/category/deals/switching-to-mac.do For those of you with Bookshare memberships, the Switching to the Mac book is available through there (including to international members): https://www.bookshare.org/browse/book/461735/ But for people who have not paid the yearly Bookshare membership, especially for those outside the US, who may not find the content that is available internationally warrants the subscription, this may be an interesting option. O'Reilly sells all their books free of DRM, so you can can download multiple formats (PDF, ePub, and they've been converting many of their titles to DAISY versions, though that's a more recent effort). You need to create an account the first time you purchase. There is no CAPTCHA to negotiate. Purchased titles are then always available for redownload in any of the available formats for that book at any later time through your account, complete with any latest updates or revisions. So if DAISY format is added, you'll be able to download in that format. In general, the Missing Manual series from O'Reilly, and the topic-specific Take Control eBooks, have proved to be the best reference guides that we recommend for list users. You can read about the special discounts for Take Control books at the link to "Breaking News!" at the main mac-access web page: <http://www.mac-access.net/NewsFlash!.html> The discounted price for the Missing Manual books runs for about 8 and a bit more hours.
