There is Stanza, which will allow you to view Epub documents from LexCycle. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find the developer's website at the moment, as it seems to have been acquired by Amazon. There is quite a bit of info on the web though if you type into Google, "Stanza os x ", some very interesting links pop up. One article that peaked my interest, is that Stanza now seems to have support for Adobe E-Books, possibly negating the need for Adobe's Digital Editions. You should also be able to get it from the App Store, though this would not be my preferred choice. There are other alternatives for viewing including the aforementioned Digital Editions, though a bit of hunting through Adobe's site is necessary to find the accessible "Preview" edition. You should also be able to find it in the list archives though, as it has ben mentioned here several times. As far as editing/modifying, the only two creation tools I am aware of are Pages and Nisus Writer Pro. Both of these do an excellent job, but require considerable time on the part of the user. LaTeX may also offer an Epub creation module, though unless you already know something about writing with this particular tool, I would avoid it. The results (as with Pages and Nisus Writer Pro), though likely excellent,, would be even more time consuming. Finally, you might also want ot take a look at Scrivener. It can be found in the App Store and independently on the developer's website. Scrivener has a host of export otions, one of which I think is Epub.
