Gordon I should have written: command-option-shift-delete: bypass internal hard drive and boot from external drive or CD
I got this information from the "Keyboard shortcuts - Mac Guides" at: http://guides.macrumors.com/Keyboard_shortcuts Cheers. -----Original Message----- From: mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net [mailto:mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net] On Behalf Of Gordon Smith Sent: Monday, June 11, 2012 1:39 PM To: Mac OSX & iOS Accessibility Subject: Re: Booting a MAC from a Thunderbolt drive. Hi Jim The most reliable way is probably to try and eject your internal drive. If you can, you're booting from the external drive. The other way might be to set the external drive as your start disk. Also, I'm confused. You say you've used the "CTRL+Option+Command+Delete" command. It's been a very long time since I've bothered booting from external media, and maybe this is something I've forgotten about. But what does this command do? I seem to remember just holding down the Option key and selecting from a list. Now for the dumb question: how do I know if I've booted from the Thunderbolt drive or the internal hard drive? <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/>.
