Clarification: with the ReadIt wand, it is not necessary to have a flat bed scanner, correct?

Subject: Scanning with the Mac

MacBook Pro + Readit Wand

My Scanning Requirements:

1. A fast, accurate and very portable scanning system.
2. The scanning package to be compatible with my existing computer and access software.
3. The ability to save scanned documents in various formats including PDF.
4. The luxury of changing the "voice", the speed and volume on the fly.

The Solution

The ReadIT Wand

I. The software uses a high resolution camera which takes the picture and starts reading in about 3-5 seconds. The accuracy is very good indeed. I fit the MacBook Pro plus Wand in a small, light-weight rucksack or ordinary briefcase.

II. ReadIt software runs on Windows 7 and to enable me to use it on the Mac, VM Fusion is preloaded for scanning and reading purposes.

III. ReadIt provides saving options at the press of two keys and I can export the scanned document to various file formats and into my default folder.

IV. I can change the RealSpeak Voice at the press of one key.

I now have the power of an excellent scanning package and my MacBook Pro wherever I go including university and/or church.

I hope the above is of some help/interest.
