If you live in the UK the Persula foundation - aka Tapesense were selling
high quality mics for discounted prices last year. You have to be
registered with them as a visually impaired person.

Subject: Mic recommendation for multi purposes

Dear listers,

I'm wondering what would be a reasonably priced mic that could be
used with both my mac book and mini. It would be used for mainly two
purposes. Improving quality of podcast recordings and to use Skype on the
mini. I'm assuming perhaps incorrectly that the mini does not have a
internal mic.
Is anyone having a good experience with a mic that they can share?

I do have a iMic from Griffin Technology so I suppose I could try plugging
in a mic to that andd seeing the results. Currently the only external mic I
have is the stereo mic that came with my Olympus recorder.

Tips are appreciated.
