Hello everybody

We very much regret that we have to inform you of an emergency outage which
will occur at approximately 14:30 (UTC), 15:30 (BST), 16:30 (CET), 12:30 (EST)
today, 1 August 2012.

This is because of emergency repairs to cabling which has to be done in our
location.

What's basically happened is that workmen repairing pipelines have
inadvertently cut through the main electricity supply cable for our street. We
are currently operating on our own emergency power supplies which have a
lifespan of approximately 1 hour at a 1KW output. These supplies are always
here for just this type of incident.

The energy company informs us that the repair will take up to 2 hours,
(hopefully less). Although in a situation like this it isn't always possible
to give specifics.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. However, we hope you will
appreciate that the outage is beyond our control.

Once power is restored, normal services will resume. However, it is necessary
for us to close down the servers in the proper way in order to prevent data
loss.

Again, you have our profound and sincere apologies for the inconvenience.

Gordon
