greetings humans,

Sorry for the possible length of this mail. I have a wireless network
consisting of an Airport extreme which is connected to the ADSL modem, and a
little Express which extends the network. The Extreme is located at the top of
the house in our home office whilst the express is down in our living room.
Also on the network is an Apple TV, and various desktops and i-devices; not all
going at the same time.

I've tried to use Airplay from my mac to the AppleTV but alas the music is
"choppy"; that is stops and starts. I suspect it's network throughput. What I
want is a tool which will tell me:

1. the speed I'm getting through the house on my own network;
2. any other local traffic (networks, other devices) and what channels they are
broadcasting on.

I want to eliminate cross-talk etc. So can anyone recommend such a tool, or is
there anything I can tweak to improve things? My logic is that if this doesn't
work for music video is going to be horrendous.

Thanks as ever,

Dónal
