Hi Sarah, You're pointing to the AppleVis post by Chris (Hallsworth) recommending the same Paragon software Gordon mentioned. At least, that's what he linked to. I didn't realize that Gordon was looking for something to both read and write to NTFS formatted volumes, because I've known that people were using that as a solution for some time (at least 2 years or more), and that includes some other list members. This is different from enforcing cross-platform compatibility in FTP and SFTP transfers, which has been previously mentioned on list, and is another aspect of the FUSE (Filesystem in User Space) effort to make the cross-platform use and transfer of files Transparent.
The big problem is that the original MacFUSE project ended around Fall 2011, and there have been a few successors, both commercial and free. I found the earlier free MacFUSE implementations tended to be much less stable than the commercial efforts. HTH.
