Find the file in Finder, press command-I to open the info page, and VO-right
till you hear the "open with" piece. There will be an application
mentioned--MS-Word or whatever your current default is--and if you VO-space
on it you'll be in a menu of applications. Pages should be on the list, so
pick it, and VO-space again. Then VO-right over to the "change all" item and
VO-space on it. You'll be asked to confirm what you requested, and once you
confirm, all .doc files will open with Pages. Hope I've explained myself
clearly enough.

Subject: Question about pages

Good evening all:

I received a .doc file by mail but can't open it using pages.

When I try to open it, the inaccessible MS word always appears and I can't
open it with pages.

What can I do to open automatically all the .doc files using pages and not
ms word?

Cheers.
