Hi Esther and others, This is exactly the info I needed and I feel confident that not only will the apple TV meet my current needs but possible future needs. I am currently old school mainly using some nice but very old receivers. Most of them only have RCA inputs. I'm using the Airport Express with analog cables. This actually works very well. But, I want to be able to do more then just air play with iTunes and my iPhone. the mirror feature, I believe will let me send all audio to the receiver hooked to my computer. I also like the idea of taking my laptop anywhere in the house but keeping the clear audio coming clearly through the receiver speakers.
This was all new and helpful information. I never heard of a Toslink cable before! I'm off to go look up the hardware noted in this post!
