Hi Courtney, as far as skipping through a file, the 1, and 2 keys will allow you to do this, the 1 key will go backwards, and the 2 keyy forwards. And changing input devices is done in preferences. Unlike a lot of preferences dialogs for apps that have a toolbar, with various buttons on it to go to sections of an apps preferences, like general, audio, for example, this is just one window, and there is no toolbar. Sound Studio is not the editor I normally use, but I do have it installed, and do know enough about it, to answer your questions. HTH.
