Right, they have not done anything to make it accessible on the mac. You might contactthe site and ask if they have any plans to move to html5. That's the way of the future, so if they have no plans for this, they are not keeping up to date with things.

Thanks for the info about HTML 5. I wasn't aware of it, or how it could replace Flash. I only mentioned other screen readers and Windows, because the reply from Apple said that Adobe had not done anything to make flash accessible to screen readers. This was not a correct statement in respect of JAWS and Window Eyes -

This is more of an adobe problem than a voiceover issue. Windows is a different platform, and Adobe has made flash somewhat accessible on that platform, but this has not been done on the mac. Fortunately, flash is slowly going away and being replaced by html 5 which provides all of the same features and is much more accessible, hopefully this site will move to html 5 soon.

Hi all -

In my frustration at not being able to listen to a sports stream, I contacted Apple accessibilty, below is there reply. It doesn't quite add up, as they say Adobe hasn't made flash accessible to screen readers, and yet JAWS for one does pretty much ok these days with it. Non the less, perhaps if lots of us folowed their sugestion of contacting Adobe, this time it might make a difference? -

 Hello,

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately there is an issue with the Flash component that makes it inaccessible to screen readers. Apple has reported this issue to Adobe over the years and in March of 2011 they announced plans to fix it, you can see their blog post in the link below:

http://blogs.adobe.com/accessibility/2010/03/flash_player_and_flex_support.html

Unfortunately, Adobe has not made the appropriate changes to Flash that make it screen reader compatible. We would encourage the you to contact Adobe and request that they implement the changes that will make Flash content accessible.
