I actually may have figured part of it out, though I still am confused why this happened to start with. I didn't realize that that particular system was still on the Gold Master. I'm in the process of updating it now. My mini which now is on the official release isn't having this problem, so, I'm thinking something might a broke in the GM.

Let me get this MacBook Pro updated, then I'll report my findings regarding this issue.
