I’m with Travis on this one. I teach Web Design and use this in class to write HTML, CSS, Javascript (etc) on the fly. The one thing I’d say is that out of the box it opens in an HTML 4.01 doctype. It’s a simple matter to change it, but I’d recommend doing so. If you’re going to do HTML you might as well work off the HTML 5 spec. If you’re looking for good books, then OReilly is the place to go. You can get them DRM free, and in various formats which work very well on mac and IOS. Personally I use the Kindle app on IOS mainly but that’s personal choice. Finally, some of the stuff on w3Schools is worth a look.

The caveat is that it might take me a while to respond as I’m up to my ears in student projects at the minute.
