Hi: It seems that since upgrading to Mavericks, I can’t open a pls stream from safari. This was brought to my attention again by someone who can’t open my husband’s internet station from safari. Sure enough, I can’t either. So how to associate a .pls or .m3u file with iTunes so that safari will call that rather than just hanging. If the files are opened in iTunes directly they play fine. I can always capture the link and just move it to iTunes and that’s probably what I’ve done without really thinking about it, but I know that people who listen to our stream won’t necessarily do that and they shouldn’t have to since this has worked fine in the past and still does in windows. so, is there something we can do to modify the .pls so it still works for mac users or is there some instruction we can provide to listeners? I’ve searched through various Mac forums and they’ve made a few suggestions but none have actually worked. Again, this is totally about file associations that seem to be broken since upgrading. I know these worked at one point because I tested them, and I’ve also tried a number of other .pls files which are not working so it’s not jus the ones we created.
