Hello,
I am contemplating buying Apple TV but am not clear on exactly what it does. I
have a wireless router in my home. I have an iMac running Mac OS 10.9.1 in my
upstairs office and a basic TV with an HDMI slot to connect to Apple TV in my
downstairs lounge. I have an iPhone 3GS. I use VoiceOVER everywhere.

I understand that Apple TV will let me play TV programs which are in iTunes on
my iMac on my lounge TV using the wireless router to link the iMac to the Apple
TV. I understand that I can control all this using VoiceOver with an App on my
iPhone 3GS. Is this all correct?

I further understand that I can use Apple TV to stream live TV via my internet
connection and that I can control that through the iPhone App using VoiceOver.
Is that correct?

Will Apple TV do anything with audio description on live TV programs accessed
via my internet connection?

Can Apple TV play TV programs which are on a USB memory stick? Does the Apple
TV have a USB slot or will I have to transfer the TV programs from the USB
memory stick into iTunes on my iMac and then access them via Apple TV?

We have recently acquired a Sansung smart TV for our loft which connects to the
Internet, has a USB slot for playing TV or photos on a USB memory stick, and
supports audio description on live TV via the TV ariel. I am wondering if Apple
TV will essentially convert my non-smart lounge TV into a smart TV. I am also
wondering if I can control the Sansung smart TV via VoiceOver using an
appropriate App on my iPhone.

Many thanks in advance for any tips.
Happy New Year to all!
