Hello,
I am running Mac OS 10.9.1 with Apple mail and gmail imap.

I also have my iPhone 3GS running the latest level of IOS 6 accessing the same
gmail imap account.

It all works fine except that when I am creating a new message in Apple mail I
get dozens of copies of the new message in my trash folder on the gmail server.
It seems that every press of the delete key creates a new copy of the message
being created. this all takes up space and communication bandwidth and so is
bad.

Do any others have this problem? If so do you know why it is happening and
what, if anything, I can do about it?

this problem never happened with Mountain Lion.

Many thanks.
