Hello Caitlyn,

VO-j does not open the message. The message is already open as soon as you 
navigate to it using VO. You cannot pass over a message without it being marked 
as read as long as the preview pane is active.

I don’t know whether getting rid of the preview pane makes it easier to read 
with Braille. It all depends on what you find difficult about it.
