Hello Juaanita, To the best of my knowledge, ChromeVox is currently designed to read and navigate just the content of web pages. It does not navigate items outside of the window containing the web content. So, for example, It is not currently possible to use ChromeVox to navigate to and/or hear the Chrome menu bar, address bar, bookmarks bar, etc while using Chrome on the Mac.
I’d recommend using VO in conjunction with ChromeVox, as another lister suggested. Be aware that this scenario has a history of sometimes breaking on some web pages or when one of the components (ChromeVox, Chrome, or OSX) are updated. If I am using ChromeVox to navigate a website, I will normally toggle VO off until I need it to perform some command outside of the current web page. If you do want to use ChromeVox to access your Chrome bookmarks, you can do so by using the standard Command+L hotkey to go to the address field, then typeing chrome://bookmarks, then pressing Return. This will open an HTML version of your bookmarks within a Chrome window. Note that as with many things Google, you might need to be logged into your google account for this to work. Also, navigating, managing and activating bookmarks using ChromeVox within this interface takes some getting used to. For example, you might need to adjust the level of navigation granularity and experiment with the Enter, Spacebar, and CVox+Spacebar or multiple presses of same in order to achieve the desired action on a particular element. Also, as Sarah mentioned, one of the best places to get help with ChromeVox questions is the google group named "axs-chrome-discuss” HTH, Bryan On Mar 20, 2014, at 10:59 PM, Juaanita Marttin <[email protected]> wrote: > How do you get to the bookmarks from within it? <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to [email protected] You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>.
