I can't find downloads folder even from the sidebar and tabbing around, all
I can find is advanced, hard disk which is checked external disks checked
etc but no downloads folder.

In finder preferences if you choose the side bar option and then tab to
the downloads checkbox and then check it the downloads folder will show up
in you're sidebar after you close preferences after checking the box.
