Hi Henry, here you go, once Jimmy told me it could be done I managed to
Google and find it.
Turning on VoiceOver for the login window
You can select an option in System Preferences to automatically turn on
VoiceOver in the Mac OS X login window.
To turn on VoiceOver for the login window:
1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
If Accounts preferences are locked, click the lock icon in the lower-left
corner of the page and type an administrator password to unlock them.
2. In the account list, move the VoiceOver cursor to Login Options and
press VO-Space bar.
3. In the login options, press VO-Right Arrow until you hear “Use
VoiceOver at login window.”
4. Press VO-Space bar to select the checkbox.
Good luck, I now need to tackle this myself *smile*. I do not feel
comfortable in that area of the locking and unlocking but hopefully we will
both succeed Henry.

You can hit command f5 at the log on screen to get speech. There is a
setting somewhere, but I can’t remember where, to allow VO at the log on
screen. Mine comes on automatically there but I don’t remember where I
set it to do so.

Hi All
Mac is accidentally set to put in computer password at login. No
speech, cannot recall how to overcome this issue. I know there are 2
icons on the screen one of which is the Apple logo. How do I get to put
in password, I have tried to vo right arrow and that did not work. I
then tried to tab and that did not work. After telling me how to
overcome this visual issue can you then tell me how to remove this
password at login presumably in system preferences. Thanks.
