You can't use it to control your cable, but you can activate most channels
on the appleTV because you have a cable subscription. You get Netflix,
hulu, cnbc, crackle, dizney, dizney JR, life time, ANE, and much much more.
Some of these you may neeed sited help to activate, but most you can do with
just the voice over support and remote. Good luck

Subject: apple TV question

hopefully, since this is Apple related, this isn't o/t. I apologize if it
is.

I'd like to learn more about the Apple TV and how it increases accessibility
for the blind with regards to TV watching. Who can tell me more, or point me
to a blindness resource where I can learn more? Also, I have Cable TV but
obviously I can't access all the menus because my TV doesn't talk. With the
Apple TV connected to your TV, does anyone use that to control your cable
and access the different channels etc?
Thanks
Laurel
