I am planning a Podcast on using Spotlight to search for files in Finder
but essentially option command space will bring up a Finder search.
There are other options and customisations for different types of search
you can then do but I will go through these on the Podcast.
Alternatively there is a free utility
called Easy Find which also provides an easy access to a Mac search
facility.
