Hi David
Where do I find the settings for standard modern view and default preview -it is not obvious in the view menu and preferences? best wishes Henry -----Original Message----- From: mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net [mailto:mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net] On Behalf Of David Griffith Sent: 25 January 2015 09:25 To: OS X & iOS Accessibility Subject: Re: [Mac-access]: question about mail app. It sounds like you are in Classic View, which I personally have never like and I have always preferred the standard modern view which will deliver what you want. In standard modern view as you simply cursor down the message list, with the default preview turned on, the message sender subject and the first five lines of the email is automatically read out for you. This is enough for me to normally decide if I need to press the delete key without even having to open the message. In fact I can normally rely upon Preview rather than having to open messages I think I may have set preview up to read the maximum as I really like this feature and find it a time saver. As I say you do not have to listen to all of it just press delete or continue cursoing down to next message. If I need to read the whole message I press VO J to read it and then VO J to jump back to the message and continue cursoring down. Since Yosemite you sometines have to press VO J 3 times on the first message you try to read. The only real problem I have with Mail is the lack of a page down function for navigating long text emails. David Griffith The important thing to remember when moving down any table is to interact first. five lines of the email are read to me automatically - this is usually then VO J to have the mail read to me wiOn 25/01/2015 04:25, michael's mail boxl wrote: > Hi guys speeking about the mail app what I would like to know. > Is when i am in the table of all my emails can I have voiceover read like > who sent it and subgject and the time all in 1 go. > Or do I have to keep pressing the right arrow each time to hear each colum > at a time. > Cheers Michael.a > <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> > > To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net > > You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at the list's public Mail Archive: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/>. > Subscribe to the list's RSS feed from: > <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/maillist.xml> > > As the Mac Access Dot Net administrators, we always strive to ensure that the Mac-Access E-Mal list remains malware, spyware, Trojan, virus and worm-free.
