Hi,
So far it was with the Marvel Series. Didn’t get it with House of Cards.
For now, I guess, it will be a matter of trying titles we select.
Hopefully the number of descriptive titles will grow…

Were you only able to get it with that one series though, or have you

Hi,
Good news from the Canadian perspective. Just tried NetFlix again and I
got the descriptive audio. It’s working now on both my iPhone and Apple
TV.
So, something good to have….

Mind you that it only works on certain shows/movies. You can't
expect everything to have audio description. Further, if you were
using the same TV show on Netflix that David used, be warned. The
first eppisode of that series doesn't have description for some
reason. The second episode I think called Cut Man does though. I'm
not in Canada, I'm in the states, so it could! be a licensing patton
thing, but I doubt it.
So yeah, try it with the second episode of that series, and see if it
works.

Hi,
I am not finding that NetFlix is working here in Canada. I have
heard David Woodbridge’s two podcasts and read a few other ways to
get the set up going. Have done all the suggested things and I am
not getting descriptive audio here in Canada. NetFlix have not
responded to my e-mail…
So, for now, I have to believe that this feature is only available
in the U.S…..
Would be interested to find out what others get in the next day or
so….

A simple Google search verifies the statement regarding Netflix
though it would appear that Audio Description is restricted to the
U.S. and Canada at this point.

Hi,
As a follow up on the Apple TV and NetFlicks, can anyone
confirm its availability in Canada….
David Woodbridge did a great tutorial on AppleVis today and I
followed it through. Sadly—unless I missed a step in his
instructions, I have the feeling that Canada is not making
audio descriptions available…. Would, as I say, really want to
confirm this.

Hi all,
some Apple news. Some products will be purchased in the
future which dad has allowed me to consider. The first is an
Apple TV which is a small media streaming box that is
connected to your TV and allows you to stream anything from
media stored in iTunes either for PC or Mac to TV shows and
movies either purchased from the iTunes Store or streamed
from a service like Netflix which as of yesterday is now
providing audio description. The device costs £99.00 UK but
extra charges may apply especially if you subscribe to
services like Netflix which is £6.00/month UK. The second
product to be considered is the Apple Watch. Dad is hinting I
can do allsorts from my writs without getting my phone out of
my pocket. But like I told him it is only compatible with the
iPhone 5 and later so this will definitely be a future
purchase whereas the Apple TV is a near future purchase. He
sounds really excited that they both talk. If anyone has an
Apple TV please tell me what you think of it. Thank you in
advance! Both products were discussed during our pints this
afternoon.
