Does anybody know when Canadians will be able to start downloading music from the Apple itunes music store?
I had heard something about June 15th but not sure if that is just another rumour
Oh no, June 15 is not a rumour. In fact, there are no Apple Rumours. There are only strategic leaks made deliberately by Apple to maintain excitement in the company. Some of them are more believable than others. This can be calculated through a freely available program only found in Dark Nets called AppleRumourTruthDetector. One simply runs that over the story and through a bayesian analysis it calculates whether this is "just a rumour" or one of those wonderful truthful statements that happens to come up once in a while on the rumour network.
sarcasm off
Given that Apple gives pretty clear direction on where it is going on some things and there are only so many projections one could come up with all you really see on the rumour networks are occasionally accurate informed guesses. If they were really getting leaked information they wouldn't be consistently bamboozled by almost every radical change by Apple.
That said, the latest guess is based on the fact that Apple is holding an iTunes related press announcement about it getting bigger in London. This is assumed to be about iTunes Europe and maybe more (including Canada and China). But, no one knows. It might just be iTunes UK.
