I've seen gmail invitations on dozens of lists.  I've seen people get
pretty angry because it's a high-volume off-topic subject.  Here's an
idea: Don't send invitations to a list.  Check this out:

Currently there are over 230,000 invitations available.

Put this link in your signature and send all your invitations there
instead of manually here.  Then nobody offers and nobody asks, yet
the invitations are both given and received.  Everybody's happy.

Spread the word (on other lists too)...
