What's the best e-mail client for OS-9? I hate Outlook,
Hi Tom
I think the best e-mail client is a personal preference 'thing'.
I like Eudora, but some friends think I've banged
my head against the wall for too long and it
effects my present day judgement.
Eudora handles multiple accounts (personalities),
multiple signatures, multiple mailboxes, plain or
rich text e-mail, will show in-line graphics,
yayda, yayda, yayda. Probably all modern e-mail
clients do now.
I keep my e-mail plain and I do not have Eudora
set to open graphics or attachments until I see
what they are first. (even though I am on a Mac).
Something I do like about Eudora is I use the
older .toc and .mbx mailbox structure. This
allows me to a: make backups of the important
mailboxes, like my 'Mac Canada' mailbox but not
necessarily my 'Joke' mailbox (the biggest) and
b: because I can boot OS 9 or OS X on my machine,
I have the 2 versions of Eudoras using the same
mailboxes. If I get my mail in OS X, OS 9 sees it
and vice versa.
If my personality goes corrupt, I do not lose my
mailboxes. If I lose a mailbox, I haven't lost
all my mailboxes. Bad things have happened to my
computer so I am glad not to have lost all.
