I live in Alberta but that doesn't have anything to do with buying a Tiger
family pack does it.

Borrowing geographic names. Happens all the time, everywhere in the
world! How about CP rail, Air France, McDonalds, Canadian Alliance (or
whatever they're called this week... after next election I'm expecting
they'll opt for AGWGGAAAAOQDGG (the Anti-Gay Wedding Gas Guzzlers
Alliance from Alberta Absolutely Against Ontario, Quebec, Democracy
and Good Government)).
What about family names? How many McDonalds, Haliburtons and Fords are
ashamed of what's happened to their surnames :-( :-( :-(?
Or, Kingston (memory), Kensington (gadgets).
Seriously though...
As for SaltSpring, they've been around since the beginning of time
(or, at least since the late 80s, perhaps even before then). I still
remember drooling over their catalogue looking for stuff that I
really, really wanted (and, now, 15 years later I could probably go to
a garage sale or eBay or the LEM SwapList and get $10000s (in 1990
$$s**) of worth of software for a buck or two).
** Think of inflation ;-). Software that you would've paid $500 for in
1990 would be well over $1000 in today's dollars (and, you may even be
able to get a "free" (open source) version that does more than your
$2000 1989 speciality software).
Eric.
