Recommendations for reasonably-priced LCDs with a DVI connection I can use on my Titanium PowerBook? Native 1600 resolution would be nice but not essential.

Also, question I should already know the answer to: DVI and ADC connectors are two different things, right? And all I need is a(n overpriced) DVI cable?

Beware LCDs, DVI connectors & cables, and Apple's proprietary ADC... Things don't always work as they should (or as you hope they would).

A few years ago I bought a Cicero 17" LCD with different inputs including a DVI. From a G4 tower with a Radeon card added (includes a DVI connector) I could get no video using a StarTech cable. I couldn't get any answers either.

A few weeks ago I bought a Philips 23PF5320 LCD TV with DVI input and a VGA connector as well as several others. I use it as a television and a monitor for the Mac Mini. The manual tells me not to expect the DVI connector to work with computer video output (Apparently it is for "DVD players or other video equipment with DVI/HDCP output connectors" ).

It depends on the video card in your computer, its capabilities, as well as the design of the monitor.

This link has some comments that you may find interesting, including connecting a Dell 2100 FP to a Cube and a G5 Dual to a Dell 1800 FP.

A Google search on "ADC connector" will give you this and more information.

Good luck!
