No. I got my G3 zif 466 through a private individual who had it in
his Beige G3 233. I doubt that a G4 500 would be noticeably faster
than my G3 466. Many programs do not take advantage of altivec yet. I
doubt I would ever put forth the expensive anyway. I think I will
jump to a G4 tower next and enjoy the higher bus speeds.
