I have successfully connected from my windows to my iMac running 10.3 and share files. However my external firewire hard drive on the iMac does not show up on the PC. Does anybody know how to set up to connect to external drives from the PC?
Samba should be able to share a device on boot as a option or you share it when you choose.
After you plug the device in and share it do you find nothing in the network neibourhood/entirenetwork/target group name/target machine name/ shares including attached printers?
Generally, anything added after boot will need to be set to share again with my experience with samba. If a drive is set to share but unavailable at boot it will not be shared on plugin.
You could always add a FW card to the pc. :)
Like another thread, many of us don't use OSX so a little more info about what you see in front of you at the time is very helpful.
