You might also try SplitIt! - which splits bigger files into disk-sized
chunks then re-assembles them.
If you've got network cards fitted - a cross-over ethernet cable for RJ45,
or a 10base2 cable (+ t-pieces/terminators) for coax.

Mac serial cable - very slow but easy to set up.
