Hi - It is the G3 zif. There's one other difference, I'm guessing, with your setup. My everyday monitor, plugged into the onboard socket, is an old Apple one that came with an LC475 (it suits me). A bigger Dell is plugged into the Radeon and sits where the TV would be if I had one. Symptoms - Movie freezes, cursor (usually) still active. The only way out is the bent paperclip to eject the DVD, after which I can quit DVD Player and shut down normally. My guess is that it's happening when shifting between layers. Cheap DVDs play fine - it's the epics with lots of extras that sometimes cause trouble. A new symptom, as of last night, was a freeze three times at the same point in the movie. I listened to the DVD drive and heard spasmodic little attempted spins. Of course, that might be down to a duff DVD. Back to the paperclip. Anyway, I got inside the G3 today and cleaned and reseated everything, just in case, and I'll lash out on a lens cleaner tomorrow. All ideas welcome.
