There's nothing wrong with having a huge cache of
machines. Afterall, beige macs are works of art. I
have; 4 classics, 2 mac pluses, 2 mac 128's, 1 Mac SE
and 3 SE 30's...

I also have; a couple of Quadra 840's, a Quadra 700,
couple of 8100's a canibalised 7200 and a working 7600
somewhere...

My pride and joys are a couple of minitower beige g3's
and I'm even contemplating getting a B&W off ebay.

I really wanted a mac back in 1987/8 but the prices
were nutty for a monochrome machine, let alone
something with 16 colours. Around this time the
Commodore Amiga burst onto the scene for 350 sporting
2096 colours. It literally blew my mind. (a bit like
the g5 ads of tv)

Over the years, I never completely lost my yearning
for a mac, and I had to wait a decade (after the
demise of the amiga) for my attentions to return
toward the mac. I got my first used power pc 7600 in
1997. It was a magical experience.

To cut a long story very short, today I can pick up
all my favourite dream machines for next to nothing on
ebay, and now I'm almost where I should have been 17
years ago, and at a fraction of the cost.

Welcome to time-warp computing!
At this rate, I'll probably get round to owning a g4
in 2014, and as for a g5... who knows.

:0)
