Following discussion on my Outbound, I have looked at my 'spares' pile.
OK, I have an Orange Micro Card here that I dont need any more.
This is a PC-on-a-card that slots into a NuBus slot. Ran great on my
StarMax which was basically a rebadged 4400.
You make a disk-image (or partition) on your macs hard disk and copy
windows onto it. Then it boots from it. Quite amazing, it really is
another complete computer on a card, which just shares your hard disk
with your mac. You can copy & paste between the two and switch the
screen display from one to the other with a keystroke.
To be honest I can't remember the processor and memory config but I
think its a Cyrix 586 clone with 64Mb. Definitely works with OS 8.6,
I think also with 9 with not sure (I dont have a nubus mac anymore!)
This was totally state-of-the-art when I got it, I did a lot of
cross-platform development work in the 90's. I would far rather
someone had this to use, and could do with some cash.
So, offers anyone? As a guide, I would hope for about the �50 mark
as a fair value, including postage. But do feel free to offer more or
less if you think I've got that wrong!
