Yeah, that's what I was thinking just after I sent my initial message.
I'm currently using a couple of old CRTs (19" and 15") with two cards in
the B&W, but with big LCDs coming down in price and the sorts of
horizontal resolutions you can get from modern graphics cards I could
probably go back to a single monitor. Hang on...

...hmmm...1600x1200 is usable with this old Ati Rage 128Pro on the 19"
display and OSX, but things are a bit small. Maybe I should start
adapting myself to a single monitor. Let's see how much a big LCD display
is in the latest MacUser....yikes! Maybe a bigger CRT, if the floor will
take it :-)

Could make a nice little games machine for the sort of stuff I
occasionally play.
